Timothy Straker QC has a wide ranging public law practice. He has made many appearances in courts at the highest level. This includes work overseas as well as in England and Wales. For instance he has appeared in the High Court and Court of Appeal in both Belfast and Trinidad. He has appeared in inquiries in Scotland and undertaken work relating to environmental assessment under European Law in Greece.

He has detailed and specialist knowledge of election law. He acts for returning officers and the Electoral Commission in referenda, European, parliamentary, mayoral and local authority elections. He has acted in all the major election cases in the last twenty years.
