Members of chambers provide pre-publication advice and act for both claimants and defendants in defamation cases, especially in relation to social media libel and defamation in the local government context. We provide representation in connection with malicious falsehood, conspiracy to injure, and negligent misstatement.
Our team practice in commercial law, intellectual property, public law and other related areas, bringing valuable perspectives to their client’s disputes.
We provide advice and representation with respect to privacy claims based on Article 8 of the ECHR, as well as cases brought under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. Our chambers also provides advice in respect of breach of confidence claims in relation to trade secrets and commercial matters (see Breach of Confidence). Our members are also able to provide advice to companies, local authorities and individuals in relation to the impact of drones on privacy rights.
Members of chambers undertake work in all areas of data protection law, particularly in relation to subject access requests, the correction of inaccurate information, and actions to stop companies and organizations from misusing personal information.
